Recycled paper is one of the raw material sources used to re-manufacture paper. The different waste processing operations include a shredding operation and the transfer to the different production stations. The small pieces which are then formed are blow around by draughts, especially around the conveyor belts commonly used in these processing centres.
Modulex Solutions, our Canadian partner, has designed and built a mobile conveyor alongside Archimedys ™. It is very lightweight and easy to set up under the shredder unloading zones. This system is an excellent substitute for conveyor belts and guarantees the elimination of the small pieces of waste that deteriorate the working environment. This conveyor has no intermediate segments and thus creates a fluid flow of material.
Archimedys™ and its many benefits
Main advantages of this new technology are the need for quick handling by maintenance personnel, quick installation, and recovery of existing elements. Equipped with a simple and compact design, the Archimedys™ auger is lighter than a steel auger. This greatly facilitates its installation. The auger is simply constructed, without any welding, by assembling standard modules directly on site. Moreover, if damaged, modules are replaced in case of accident. They are then put back on the axle without having to replace the whole auger.
The polymer technology used in its manufacture is highly corrosion resistant. Its abrasion resistance is often three times higher than that of steel.
Easy maintenance
The Archimedys™ advantages for maintenance are innumerable. Only the damaged modules are replaced and put back on the axle, not the whole auger. Maintenance operations are very simple and quick. Maintenance costs and times are reduced, as are operating losses due to downtime.
Archimedys™, technological revolution!
The benefits of the modular Archimedys™ screw are such that an increasing number of industrials are choosing to abandon steel for Archimedys™.
The modular Archimedys™ screw won the “Industrial innovation prize” in 2011.
