Archimedys™ used to equip spreader installations.
Our modular auger solutionArchimedys™ was chosen to equip salt spreaders in Canada. Salt is a highly abrasive material that corrodes most installations. The equipment wears out very quickly, and the steel screws on the trucks are not easily replaceable.
One of the many advantages of Archimedys™ is that, even after 4 years of service, the system is as good as new. No corrosion or visible wear, maintenance and servicing won't be needed for a long time. Should an accident occur, simply replace the damaged modules. Salting operations can then be restarted very quickly. This is particularly important during heavy snowfalls, when no downtime is possible.
Archimedys™ is scheduled to be standardized on salting equipment in Canada.
Archimedys™ and its many benefits
The need for quick handling by maintenance personnel, rapid installation, recovery of existing elements - these are the main advantages of this new technology. Featuring a simple, compact design, the Archimedys™ screw is lighter than a steel screw. This makes it much easier to install. The screw is built simply, without any welding, by assembling standard modules directly on site. What's more, if damaged, the modules are replaced in the event of an accident. They can then be put back on the axle without having to replace the whole screw.
The technopolymer used in its manufacture is highly resistant to corrosion. Its abrasion resistance is often three times greater than that of steel.
